My 1995 ford fiesta 1.6 lists sae80 for gearbox oil which seems to be mineral stuff.
Can i use synthetic 75w80 or will it blow up?
My logic is that if its a 80 when hot then it should be fine and thinner than the straight 80 when cold.
But not sure if gearboxs are more sensitive to oil than engines are?

I am sure that there will be no problem if you will use any generic 75w90 gl4 oil...

Put your car in oilfinder tool of major oil companies...

I am sure that there will be at least multiple choices for gearbox oil

Cool i got a reply back from opieoils who recommend 75w80
So lots of options in that

Well its been a while but finally ordered the gearbox oil. Iv ordered millers 75w80 synthetic oil. Hopefully it works fine and doesnt kill the gearbox.
Since sae 80 was originally specified for the box which was designed in the late 70s would multi grade 75w80 synthetic have been around since then?
