Good morning all,

Anybody familiar with a:
Sears .... Roto-Spader (tiller), circa 1975
Model: 785-295350

E-Bay link to same Model (scroll down to see photos)
http://www.ebay.com/itm/sears-roto-spader-tiller-worm-gear-drive-model-297252-/260652795030

I bought it from a neighbor and I need:
1.) Owners Manual
2.) Air Filter and Housing

Somehow the tines are direct drive from the engine, NO Drive Belts.
I wonder how that's designed.

If I have to, I'll put a new engine on it.
The reason I bought it was the Cast Iron Gear Box.
My 2002 Sears Tiller had a Sheet-Metal Gear Box that developed stress cracks.

Years ago I bought a conversion kit to Aerate the lawn.
This is my main purpose of using this machine.

Thanks for any advise.

before going to far with it, check the grease/oil in the gearbox. If it was run dry of grease, it will cut out the brass gear real fast, and it wouldn't ber worth fixing. As to how it works without a belt,(and I think this is one of those) is that they have a cone shaper clutch on the crankshaft of the engine. Also, the picture shows it as having the air filter on it. May need a new element.
