So much of the fun of watching them is actually watching them. Cars come and go, but those three have a chemistry on screen that is perfect. Is it scripted? probably most of it yea, but its still great entertainment.

Jeremy Clarkson has stated in past interviews that almost all of Top Gear was "tightly" scripted (that was his word), at least as far as the skits themselves went. There was, however, some room for ad-libbing, spontaneous intrusions, and other off-script activity.

As with any recorded show -- including "reality" shows -- multiple takes are usually required until the right "feel" is obtained, especially if somebody went "off script".

I expect GT to be the same.

I've been keeping up with the trailers and teasers. I can't wait for it. My wife isn't into cars like I am but she would watch Top Gear with me fairly often. She didn't always get the jokes but those three have a way of drawing people in.
