Recommendations for rear view mirror adhesive

Bought a kit from Walmart and follow the directions to clean the area good and use one drop of adhesive. It's held up fine so far. The mirror fell off on a super hot day last summer. This is for the Sienna. By chance, was the windshield recently replaced? The mirror fell off not too long after windshield replacement. My guess is the windshield place didn't glue the mirror back with enough glue.

I've noticed that windshields for vehicles with glass mounted mirrors come with the mounting pad already attached. When the glue hasn't failed it is extremely difficult to remove the pad. At junkyards they often remove those mirrors by whacking the windshield from the outside, right where the pad is, with a hammer.

Oh, and put me down for the kits specifically made for that purpose. I've used them several times in my life and they work just fine.
