Forgot I had this sitting around, figured I'd share. The run of oil before this was a 2700 mi run of AutoZone 5W-30 after the 2nd Auto-RX Rinse (2500 runs). This run below was in service 5.5 months and I have a nice Ford 4.0L SOHC timing chain rattle, so I'm sure some of the wear of it is contributing to the numbers below.

Comments: CHARLES: It's funny how much oil carries over from oil change to oil change. Check out sodium - that was

an additive in the AutoZone you used last time. Mobil 1 doesn't use it, but there's still 117 ppm present.

That's fine - it'll wash out with time if you stick with this oil. Note that wear has increased, and that's primarily

due, we think, to the longer oil change. Unless you know of some kind of operational issue (harder use like

towing, for example) that would have caused an increase in wear, you may have found the limit on how long

you want to run the oil. The TBN is still solid.

They said wear increased from your last uoa. Do you have your last uoa handy? I'd be curious to compare it to this one.

I can't edit the OP, so I'll just re-post below...keep in mind the rattle started around Feb or March of this last AutoZone run...:

Generally I don't find the wear per mile has increased.
Instead I'm of the opinion the current M1 oils performs better than previous brand.
Timing chain rattle aside

I'll have another to post in a week or two from the fill I'll change out this week. It's been run longer, but not drastically so. Will be interesting to see how bad the wear is. I wonder if Blackstone can add a field for Plastic?

Oil thickened up. You have a lot of oil carryover. Make sure you are draining it hot and have it level. You should only have say 15% you have 1/3.

Thanks for posting.

Negative. I make sure the truck is level, and leaning slightly to the one side the drain plug is on, and let it fully drain. It's barely dripping out of the pan when I put the plug back in.
