My truck has an annoying squeal from the left rear wheel - it is pretty loud and always there when driving. The noise will disappear whenever I push the brak pedal, so somehow I suppose it is related to the drum brake.

I did take off the drum today, blew out the dust with compressed air and sprayed brake cleaner, but that did not fix it.

Any suggestions what might fix it?

Well, the drum could be worn oval. Or the shoes might not be adjusted correctly.

Bigger picture: could be a bad wheel bearing or bent axle causing the drum to have excessive runout.

Make sure its the rear by applying light pressure to the E brake when moving, if it stops its the rear brakes if not look at the front.
Sometimes noises appear to be coming from one place but are really coming from somewhere else.

If its the rear I would first try the easiest thing which is adjust them until there is just a slight drag. Post back, there is no point getting in to all the possible causes and remedies at this point.
