My Daughter does power-lifting and I was at her meet today. (she won gold in her class)
There was a competitor there they call Dr Deadlift. She weighs ~100lbs (44kg I think it said) and she did a dead lift of 385lbs. Just amazing.
Also saw a 175lb guy bench 440lb. pretty [censored] good

That is certainly impressive. Respect.

Max weight deadlifting places tremendous stress upon the lumbar Pars Interarticulari though. Ask my L4 vertebra.

4 X bodyweight is very impressive for a deadlift. It does help to be short though!

Yes, it seems everyone in this country ONLY equates HUGE size/mass with any strength/power at all. no-no

These little powerhouses prove otherwise. smile thumbsup

I want to start doing some jump roping like Sugar Ray. Lifting a ton of weight like that is impressive but can't be good for long term health. I like to push myself but also want to be able to move in the future.

Strength, mobility, and conditioning aren't mutually exclusive.

Are you currently doing anything?

This. Long limbs = good for sports. Short limbs = good for weight lifting.
