Guy Clark, one of the very best Texas singer-songwriters of all time died Tuesday.

His music/lyrics, along with Townes Van Zant's (who was a close friend of Guy's) are what got me into the whole Texas/Austin music scene so many years ago.

The old desperado no longer has to wait for that train.

RIP Guy.

Oh man! I'm feeling old. All my heroes are passing on. Merle Haggard and now Guy Clark. L.A. Freeway, Let Him Roll, Dublin Blues, Randall Knife, Stuff That Works, Out In The Parking Lot, Sis Draper.........and more.

^^^Yes, I spent all of Tuesday's drive with Jerry Jeff Walker's cover of LA Freeway on perpetual repeat on the CD player, as a eulogy.

Let Him Roll, and Randall Knife are two of the ONLY songs in existence which can bring me to tears just from listening to them!!

GREAT STUFF.

One of my biggest regrets, (and missed bucket list items) was never seeing him perform live with Verlon Thompson backing him up.
Of course, I will say the same for Gram Parsons and TVZ as well.

You WILL BE MISSED, Old No. 1
