Anyone know when API CK-4 diesel oil will be available, if not already?


2015 Ford F350 XLT 6.7 diesel (chassis cab). AMSOIL REMOTE DUAL BYPASS. MOBIL 1 DELVAC 5W-40 ESP, Archoil 9100, 6200.

Last I saw it would be end of Q4 2016 or early 2017 before release.

The official licensing date from the API is 1 Dec 2016.

As some of the majors will want to get this through their supply chain for that day, they will probably begin blending and packaging sometime around mid-late summer. There is slight chance we may start to see some products hit shelves around October or November if somebody in the supply chain jumps the gun.

There will be two new classifications with PC-11.... CK-4 for use in older diesels, and FA-4 for newer diesels. Mostly centers around HTHS. CK-4 oils must have >=3.5 HTHS while FA-4 will have <= 3.2 HTHS.
