Is ATF+4 the same as ATF sp-iv

atf SP-IV is a Hyundai Kia thing.

No, SPH-IV is the Kia/Hyundai low viscosity ATF. It's more comparable to Dex 6, or Valvoline Maxlife ATF.

ATF+4 is similar in viscosity to the older Kia/Hyundai SPIII spec.

Hyundai/Kia used to use a few Chrysler transmissions and I suspect their in-house designs owe a lot to the Chrysler designs they used, so their ATF spec evolved from the Chrysler spec. You could *probably* interchange those two since the friction modifiers are *probably* virtually identical, but I'd advise against it because of the viscosity difference.

Can't interchange SP-IV with ATF+4.

SP4m is the newer low viscosity lifetime ATF. ATF+4 is higher visc.
