Any updates on Jared Fogle? (Subway guy)

This thread should be closed. Actually, it should be removed entirely due to the things said about some.

It is no longer about JF and the FBI investigation. It has instead deteriorated into a forum for some to make slanderous, outrageous, and totally uncalled for comments about others. If the things said here recently do not fall under the label of breaking site posting policy about attacks on others then I have no clue what does. Especially since they are grounds for a civil suit as another poster mentioned and I hinted at earlier.

I would hope that the Mod's would step in before attorney's need get involved( not a threat against BITOG before anyone takes it that way ). I am not going to sit here and be called a child molester or labeled as someone who engages in incest because I see no crime in a 16 year old girl engaging in sex if that is the legal age of consent.

Just unbelievable that anyone would say such things about people they don't even know and for the reasons they were said to begin with. A new low for this site.

I am done in this thread and would ask that I no longer be addressed in it please.

Now see, locking the thread ISN'T the correct answer, instead why don't folks start acting like the mature adults they are supposed to be and self moderate.

I hope the mods keep the thread open and lets see the members police their own behavior, thanks.

This is the issue. We don't have to agree with his behaviour. He broke the law, or he did not - that's what decides whether he goes to jail or not. Whether he violated my morals or the morals of other readers isn't terribly relevant. There are lots of people in this world who do things I don't agree with, but whom are quite within the law. He doesn't have to live by my moral code, and I don't have to live by his.

Something else to be considered, throughout modern history and before (18th and 19th Centuries) it has been normal for older men to mate with much younger women, (maturity levels are much different for males vs females) Personally I don't agree with it in today's modern society, but it still exists.

The "law" in the US generally is that the legal age of consent is 16 years of age, (some states it is 15,14 or 17) and in the eyes of the law it makes it acceptable. Of course you might suffer the wrath of a raging parent that finds it acceptable to teach you a lesson with serious harm or death even if you think the age of consent gives you carte blanche to chase young girls.
LOL

True story:

About 10 years ago my manager was arrested in a child predator sex sting operation in Tampa. He thought he was meeting an under age teen girl for sex..... was arrested and fired from a very good paying job. He served 1 year in jail and is now a registered sex offender for life.

Moral of the story: Stay away from children. Sex with children is a big NO NO

Nope he doesn't, nor mine either. However he does/(did) have to live up to Subway's expectation of a certain moral code of conduct as it's spokes person. They've already weighed in a said, buh bye to JF. Safe to say many agree with that call.

As for the legal aspect, remains to be seen. Age aside, if the allegations are as described, he likely broke the law too.

Yep, its mostly a legal issue. Sure it might make us nauseous. Law is law. Thing is, most addicts like that "know" its wrong and feel bad, yet want to continue their behavior, and might end up rationalizing it if confronted.

And that's certainly Subway's right. And it's also the customers' right to decide whether they would punish or reward Subway for this trajectory.

If it's alleged he broke the law and there's a prima facie case, charge him. If he didn't break any laws, so be it. If what he did was legal, I don't have to agree with his actions, but there's precious little I can (or should) do about it.

There is no evidence that has been revealed, none that he was ever involved in a crime.

Now the press has made him sound like a deviant because he enjoyed hobbies like a lot of men do.

I think it is absurd that he has not been charged, or even accused of a crime, but yet his life is essentially ruined.

And, now he will plead guilty to possession of child pornography.

I know this guy is just a pitchman on television for Subway sandwiches ,but still it is discouraging and depressing to see the ugliness that seems to permeate even the most ordinary and mundane things like a guy selling sandwiches on TV. Who would have ever thought that the ordinary, and somewhat awkward Jared would be a kiddie porn fan?

The news reproted the plea agreement contemplates a sentence between 60 and 150 months. A sweetheart deal for this kind of sick perversion. A lot of non famous people get a whole lot more.

Criminals, interestingly, have their own code of conduct. Criminals that prey on children generally have a more difficult than usual time in prison with other criminals. A lot will depend on the type of facility he is imprisoned in.

Win,

I agree 100%. Local, state and federal authorities don't go to your house with search warrant if you are innocently downloading music files.

FBI and the phone companies work together to catch these creeps. Put a parachute on this sicko, push him out the back of C-130 and let ISIS have him.

Complete court filing documents further detailing the charges, penalties etc. can be found in the link.

In addition to jail time and restitution, Fogel will have to register as a predator.

Goes without saying Subway completely vindicated in quickly dumping him.

Creep. Ugh.

Yikes, I read all the pages of court documents and it's much worse than I thought.

How bad will it be for him in prison ?
It won't be easy since he is a high profile person and a child predator.

So how did Michael Jackson get away with a 25 million dollar settlement for MOSLETSTING a child?

Did he do any jail time? Did his "wonderland ranch" continue to operate?

...and Jared here is doing sexual acts with consenting minors?

Yet Michael is worshiped, while Jared shares a cell with Buba...

Hypocritical indeed!
