I am able to get some Mobilube HD Plus MG 75W for a decent price. I am wondering if anyone knows anything about this gear oil and would it be ok as a direct substitute for 75W90 applications? More specifically, in the differentials and transfer case of my Toyota 4Runner.

It is API GL-5 rated and the spec sheet is here:
http://www.mobil.com/Canada-English/Lubes/PDS/IOCAENCVLMOMobilube_HD_Plus.aspx

I see it has a low pour point, which would be great for the winter, but this fluid only has a 75W rating...so does it mean it's not a multigrade like a standard 75W90 gear oil? Any thoughts on this?

Thanks!

The cSt at 100°C is the same as the 80W-90 so it looks like it is a 75W-90 despite the grade only being listed as "75W". I can't help you with the other stuff but thought I would throw that observation out there.

Non-LSD gear oil
The 75w says its a GL5
And, its almost 16cst.

I would use it in the transfer case and diffs.
