My 79 KE 125 blows the low beam when I replace the headlight. Any advice on what to check? The battery is currently dead, but the hi beam, tail light, and signals work when the bike is running. Any ideas for me?
Older motorcycles have a simplified electrical system where the battery acts like a capacitor and absorbs excess voltage. If your battery is dead or missing on these bikes they will continually burn out headlight bulbs.
+2 you need a good battery, the power generation on these is "pulsey". There's also a voltage regulator that takes extra voltage and converts it to heat, pretty crude, and they burn out too.
