I change the oil and filter approximately every 5k miles on our '13 Mazda CX-5. This was a 5k mile run of Castrol Edge 0w20 with an PE01-14-302 for the SkyActiv Engines. This is the first one i have ever cut open. Thanks for looking.

Tokyo Roki. Their history can be found here.

Nice! I'd keep using those regardless of the efficiency just cause they look so good!

Looks good. Unique looking bypass. Tokyo Roki, made in Japan or US? Don't see the adbv, nitrile or silicone?

Wondering if HF circulars as backdrop is new trend. j/k

Thanks for the pics.

Edit, skip the adbv question, just found another posted here saying SkyActive doesn't spec one.

Yep, different design on the bypass valve. Looks to be a good flower when it does open.

Wow.. that's a great looking filter!!
I agree with KCJeep - regardless of efficiency , I'd run them as well.

Thanks for the cut and post.

Interesting. If similar/close to other Asian OEM's it would put them in the ~50%(Toyota)-65% (Honda)@20um range. And the Mitsubishi OEM filter tested similarly on the Evo board test using river_rats method which has been shown reliable.

Apparently looks are important.

This must mean there's hope for the Wix XP.

That Wix XP certainly finishes in first place in the beauty contest....
