Mahle filters cut open from Porsche

Below is photo of Mahle/Knecht oil filters from my Porsche 993. One on left is engine filter and one on right attaches to thermostat housing on oil tank. They seem to be well made. There have been on vehicle for 14 months but only 625 miles.

The OEM filters I purchased today at dealer are made in USA, I think they are Hastings; besides Porsche numbers one has LS 143 on it and the other has number LS 174. Are those numbers from manufacter?

Thanks for the pics. There is no doubt; these Mahle filters are built like tanks. I wish I had a local source for them. I'd like to use them on my GTI.

Look like the filters are made by Champion lab.

I don't think Champion makes them. I believe Mahle's are made in Europe, are they not?

Correct, both of mine say; Made in Austria.

Mahle and Mann. Both are typically fairly bulletproof as to construction quality.

i use Mahle in my BMW 318

it is a cartridge-type filter though, not a spin-on.

i find it is also VERY top quality

I order them six at a time from PureMS or ECS Tuning. Can't even get them from the stealership.
