Is this one of those sludge-prone Toyota engines?

Looks like with some detailing and paint you've got your self a deal.

In So. Cal. the market is a funny thing.
Toyota Camrys go for a price far above their higher optioned badge sisters such as the Avalon and ES300.

So you can get Avalons and ES300s cheap, while plain Camrys still command a premium!

I think this is the V6 before it has sludge issue.

$800 for a smashed up 20 year old car sounds about right.

There is still two days to go in this auction. Some yahoo will probably bid $5000 for it.

I don't know much about the ES models, very different vehicle to the ones I have. However, my SC and GS have been exceptional cars. Albeit the 2JZ inline 6 is a very different beast to the 2MZ-FE in the ES.

3 negative feedbacks in the past month. If you cant see the red flags you are colorblind and its a green flag instead.

Not so odd...
economical Camry...
I4 vs V6 = better mpg
regular gas vs premium
typically cheaper parts
typically cheaper labor costs
manual tranny avail vs AT only on older models
