Hey Everyone,

I was shopping at my local Pathmark supermarket and noticed this oil on the shelves:

It's distributed by Warren, it's a whopping $6.50 per quart. Has anyone seen this product before?

It's awesomeness is only obvious when the supermarket that sells it is the only place in town still open.

Haha looks like that star brand and similar stuff that was tested by the API and it all turned out to mostly single grade oil with absolutely no additive pack! Has the API donut on though but you still wouldnt see it going in my car!

If someone has a beater they're not bothered about, they should do a couple thousand on this cheap stuff and then run a UOA, could get some surprising or interesting results :p

It is Warren, so it's better than the Bullseye and other swill they sell in the convenience stores around here. $6.50 is ridiculous, though!

The labelling is appallingly ghetto but I have confidence in what's inside. Warren is big enough they won't put their name on junk. This UPC is also active at Waldblaums and A&P stores.

Save that for "City Star" or other PQIA darlings.

There are at least three completely different "Warren" companies in the oil business. Irving Warren's company that made this oil has no connection to the Warren Distribution that makes the Walmart Supertech & Mag1 oils, nor the separate Warren Unilube that makes other Warren and Coastal products.

All three links that are posted still connect to "warren oil company"; not three different companies.

Warren oil is 11 miles from the house , Wife used to work there in the 80s. Also did not know that they were in virgin oils used to be only used oil.

All wording on the package indicates it's a good product. Even the description of the oil if nice. Color scheme is cheap though.

Never buy motor oil at a convenience store or a drug store.

I bought 5 quarts of Quaker State for my BIL's Dodge for 1.50 a quart at a grocery store. At 1.50 a quart I will buy just about any API/ISLAC certified PCMO for 1.50.

It wouldn't be going in any car I own that's for sure.

Heck, I'd be worried with it in my lawn mower. And I've even got motorcycle oil in the lawn mower right now!

This oil has the actual API donut.
If it were not API licensed, API would be all over the distributor and the retailers.
Ghetto labeling to be sure and priced way beyond reason, but a perfectly good oil.
