With the OEM 15" rims the Kitacam speedo was THREE MPH over...with the 17"ers it dropped to 2mph over...and the odometer now reads 2-3% UNDER...

Just had the Trans Am out...
60 MPH with the 3.42 rear end is 1400 RPM. All I have to do is mash the go pedal enough torque that I don't have to downshift.

The Jeep fakes the speedo on the dash by 3mph, it seems. It's almost dead on if I compare the output from a scan tool to GPS, but the speedo reads a bit high.

Slow and thirsty, but still looks new with 150K.

Is that the 4 or 5 speed auto?

If the OP would have asked for rpm @ a mile a minute speed of 60 this would have been a more interesting topic. I just changed the fun gear in the quick change rear end in my Camaro, which takes less than 15 minutes, from a 4.47 to a 3.69. Harder to get rolling, but much better after you get rolling. 2800rpm @ 60. I like 6th gear in my C5 Corvette. 1350 rpm @ 60.

60/70=.857

multiply RPM at 70 by .857 and you have RPM at 60, unless you for some reason drop a gear or have slippage going on at 60 that doesn't happen at 70.

My Bronco is geared too tall IMO and is only turning about 1900 rpm at 70. I think I might get rid of the stock 3.55 gears and put in some 4.10s. That would put me at about 2200 rpm at 70, which would put me back in the powerband. It's gutless in OD and downshifts too much on the highway.

Going by memory, but I believe my 95 Acura Integra LS is at around 3,000 RPMs at 70. 4-speed automatic. 1.8L I4, 142hp.

I can't remember what the Firebird is spinning at 70mph. I know it isn't nearly as high as the Acura. Probably around 2k. I'll follow-up with a correction if I'm way off. Also a 4-speed auto. 3.8L V6, 200hp.
