alternative to PH3387A

My impala uses a Fram PH3387A. Is there another one that I can use that is a little bigger than this tiny filter?

You can get a WIX 51040 or the bigger 51036. Both have the same exact mounting size.

I use the PH3980. The PH3387A is the Fram equivalent of the AC Delco PF47. The PF47 is recommended for my 4.3 equipped GMC van. GM used to recommend the PF52 for this engine, which crosses to the PH3980. I figure the shorter filter is probably adequate, but the longer one is much easier to install and remove.

I use PF52 on my daughter's S10 4.3L. Fits perfect

As others have indicated, the ph3980 (or other brand equivalent) is what you are looking for. But in all reality, the 3387 is plenty large enough for a normal OCI.

I've used the PH3980/PF52 on my 2001 GMC Safari work van since its first oil change. Now has over 100,000 miles.
