Black manual tranny oil

I'd be looking for a stouter fluid or changing what you are using currently twice as frequently.

It could be the carbon composite synchro faces putting some carbon into the oil.

Recall that the transmission is coupled directly to the transmission so it could also be the case that heat conduction from the engine is accelerating fluid oxidation.

Does honda do such short manual trans fluid changes on their other cars? My Focus specs every 7 years or 100k miles. I think the Tracker is 60k miles or 5 years.
I changed out the Focus at 35k miles as the previous owner used iffy lubes and who knows what she got talked into there...

Im guessing the dealer fluid since that is where he returned from?
