Today changing the oil on my Tacoma I was cleaning up my drip pan. Man I couldn't beleave the coating left behind inside the drip pan. It took a lot of carb cleaner to get it clean. This time I didn't add any to my current fill. MoS2 does a good job in coating things that's for sure.

Just an observation.

MoS2 is the most popular industrial dry film lubricant in use. Would you expect anything less?

We knew that for a long time.

Quote:
Adding either graphite or MoS2; to an SAE 5W-30 engine oil did not affect oil economy or oil performance, but oil filter plugging was increased in high-mileage cabs. Oil filter plugging increased with increasing engine oil viscosity, filter change interval, and cab mileage.

Why are you using it?

Not sludge.

First time using it. Bitog told me to do it, lol.

I wouldn't trust that 22+ year old article.

A lot of things have changed and Lubro Moly MoS2 products do indeed work and perform as advertised.

FYI - Cera Tec is Liqui Moly's best friction modifier product that binds to metal surfaces long-term. MoS2 is a short-term friction reducer that is a good value for the dollar at 60% less cost than Cera Tec.
