2. Hacker-Pschorr

Both were quite good!

Hacker-Pschorr makes some really good wheat beer. The only other wheat beer I like more is Weihenstephaner.

Some beers just "taste" or are smoother if you pour it into a glass to release the trapped CO2. Try pouring a store bought bottle into a glass next time and see if it's similar to what it was like on tap. Temperature of the beer also has an effect. Of course, you probably know all of this

I've noticed this with many beers.

+1, plus it all tastes the same at a premium price...no thanks. A local premium beer is priced the same and tastes so much better. Great Lakes is the name of it. They have an excellent Christmas Ale and their mainstay is Dortmunder. Reviews on www.beeradvocate.com.
