Schaeffer 700 15w40 Syn blend I use also meets the spec.

Use it for over 15,000 mile oil change intervals in my Detroit engine. Recent winter temps of -20F actual have not hindered the oil or the engine starting fine. Recent oil sample looks darn good. Engine now has 210,000 miles on it, only uses maybe a quart in 15,000 miles. Last oil sample showed add pack after almost 15,000 miles at Calcium 1161, Phosphorus 1104, Zinc 1429, and Moly 46. Haven't run a virgin sample on the stuff.

And Schaeffer developed the lubes for the Apache Helicopter, and is a major supplier of lubes for the M1 Abrams.

Their 9000 5w40 full syn is even more impressive...

Interesing...I always assumed military lubes were made by some secret government contractor unknown to the rest of the world.

...or by City Star.
