My 3.8 (LG3) came from the factory with a nylon tooth cam gear for engine noise reduction.
These are ticking time bombs as the Buick 3.8 is interference.
The first thing I did when I got the car is change out the timing set to an ALL steel one. Thankfully, the cam gear was in good shape thanx to low mileage.
Fords and GM of the mid 80's had these nylon tooth gears..... unbelievable stupidity if you ask me!
