I recently got a great deal on a 1967 Hyster forklift. I guess it's a spacesaver 50? I don't know if that's what it was actually called in the 60's though. It's a 5500lbs max capacity, propane powered flathead, 3 stage lift with sideshift.
It runs great, with some very minor hydraulic leaks/seeps. After cleaning it up, I'd like to swap out the fluids. Judging by the oil filter for the motor, dated back to 2004. I'm guessing everything could use a refresh.
Since the cylinders are in great working condition, and the only tiny leaks are seeping hoses, I'd like to make sure I don't cause any problems by using an inappropriate fluid.
