I filled through the dipstick.

This was only on the early V-6 transmissions that had the jet kit recall. Our MDX gets filled through the fill plug at the back of the transmission (as pictured above) because it came with the redesigned and upgraded transmission, with no cooling jet kit recalls. It has a very very narrow dipstick tube; I assume I could fill it through that, but it'd take forever. Our CR-V's transmission doesn't have the large fill plug at the top, and it gets filled through a much wider dipstick tube that was clearly designed to be a fill tube as well.

It did take a few minutes to pour in the entire 3+ quarts. I used some plastic tubing from my oil extractor that fit in the dipstick tube, converted to a piece of larger tubing, into a funnel.
