Can calcium or mineral deposits be an issue with pumps long-term? I just read a post that the guy would de-lime pumps with vinegar and let soak for a few hours then flush and run with cold water. I've got a 10yr old Honda with a AR pump. Just curious. Thanks

I am not so sure. I would not worry if I did not have any problems. Your AR pump should be good for 500 hours.

It depend on your water. Here in Germany it sure is a huge problem, the water is almost like liquefied calcium in my region. When i am in the US (New england) its not an issue.

Concentrated vinegar 14-15% works great on calcium build up but there are good commercial products also. Regular vinegar 5% is a little weak but it does work albeit slower.

We have an old product up here called CLR (Calcium, Lime, Rust).

People use it in dishwashers, washers, and COFFEE MAKERS!

Never used it, but this is like a 30 year old product so they must be doing something right.
