Good day! I hope this finds everyone in good spirits.......I know that Petroleum based product naturally contain sulfur. How much Sulfur is in Pennzoil Ultra 5w30

No Sulfur is listed in the UOA from the Petroleum Quality Institute of America. Ultra UOA

So, it appears there is no Sulfur. Sulfur content is listed in other various oil.

Thanks,

Pajero

There are 2 sources of sulfur.

one is the base oil this usually is not very much.

then there is the additives.. this is where the majority of sulfur is in a syn motor oil comes from.

I wouldnt worry much about it

RP non API has significanlty higher sulfur than allowed by API requirments.

Could be from synerlec?

Yes its from the Synerlec from what i have gathered, which is an excellent additive and a good reason why people like RP SL or the HPS street which is what they call it now.

The VOA you posted of the 10w30 Royal Purple is API Certified, but its using older API SL certifications which allow for higher sulfer levels than API SN.

Synerlec is a no go for the API SN requirements, but as i said its been repackaged as Royal Purple HPS, i just don't have the VOA to show it.
