First of all, I’m a fan of Berryman’s B-12 (http://berrymanproducts.com/ProductsInfo/FuelAdditives.aspx). Been using it for years as a fuel additive. I’ve also been familiar with Seafoam (http://www.seafoamsales.com/motor-treatment.html). Last week I was at Walmart and it looked like they were closing out on B-12. 3 bottles left at around $2.75 a bottle, but they were now selling seafoam for about $9.00 a bottle.
Aren’t these products pretty much the same? I bought up the last 3 bottles of B-12.

I have used both,,,tons of stuff on each thru the years in here in the search section, I have just stuck with the 2cycle oil scheme and use it in the gas all the time,,its cheap, it cleans, and does keep the fuel pump quiet now. Seafoam is a good product and so is b12,,,,but just to expensive for me, do the math on a gallon compared to a gallon of 2cycle oil/tcw3.

If u type in b 12 cleaner,,the search section goes back to 2002 and maybe 1000 threads on this cleaner,,lots to read.enjoy

Berryman B-12 is stronger than SeaFoam.

SeaFoam is great to shoot into Intake, "kill the engine" DONT rev it up or it will get burned off.. let it sit "An hour" start up.. watch all smoke, thats the carbon. Not so much B12.

Also great to do Piston Soak with Seafoam not B-12 (a little better than MMO there.) Do you fill up the cylinder 100% and turn it then suck it out, or only add 2 ounces to the top?

I narrowly choose SeaFoam.. though i will pour B-12 (2 or 3 cans) into Oil Pan when engine has no Oil at change, wait a half hour, pour a quart or two of cheap oil to gert it out, then refill (drain plug in, let B012 dissolve, remove drain plug, pour oil down to get sludge/clay out of pick-up screen and pump, replace plug, fill Oil!) B-12 is better there.

+1 seafoam/deepcreep (sprayable) is excellent at cleaning carbon, ive seen it work wonders in sm engines

+1, I recommend it because this guy recommends it. he knows his stuff.LOL They are both good but B-12 being cheaper I think it is a better deal. I think it is stronger than Seafoam. I have seen my boss use it to soak sludge off of boat engine components and it is Stronger than SeaFoam. Better is up to you.

I always considered the two different. Meaning, I would use the B12 in the tank as a cleaner but only used the Seafoam as a carbon cleaner being sucked thru the intake or vacuum line.

I have had Great luck with the Sea foam as a fuel stabilizer. I have only used the berryman as a fuel cleaner. I often wonder how it would work to stabilize fuel.

I would put SeaFoam in the gas, but its a medium-strength cleaner. MMO is low, which is good for certain application, like a UCL in an engine.. and B-12 is all-out strength.

Could also use RedLine, MMO, or Regane in fuel.

it all depends on what you are doing, IMO:

Piston Soak = SeaFoam (details needed)
Engine Oil = MMO *One quart, or 20%
GAS = "Anything" (MMO is most economical, also with Regane)
And AFAICT, these things DO help.

Agree although I use Seafoam in the crankcase as a flush and moisture remover as well. Love Seafoam as a rule but not crazy about it added to the tank. B12 is better at that.

Berrymens is great for small engines. It is my first try to clear out a carb before tearing it down. Ive gotten pretty good at clearing out by spraying it into the intake as the revs die. Takes a few minutes but, often it will clean out the carb. I dose the mowers with it when I get them out in the spring. This is on top of a dash of MMO. I get good enough results from that cocktail rather than spending 9$ a can for Seafoam. I did use Seafoam carbon cleaner to do a hot soak on my old car that had failed for NOx emissions. A hot soak , new plugs and O2 sensor solved the problem. Lotsa smoke, it was 6 $ a can then. 9 is too steep.

B-12 & Seafoam is popular for motorcycles. The B-12 for a strong quick cleaning, and the Seafoam spread out more gradually - multiple tanks.
I'm not sure, but I think most I know use the Seafoam a few times a year, running 3-4 tanks each time. I used Seafoam but didn't notice anything - guess my system was good then.
I'm now trying MMO in two bikes with no negative's. I don't know any of my friends using MMO, so I'm on the 4th-5th tank on each bike. Might be just me, but the bikes seem smoother on the freeway.
I haven't done any mileage checks though.
I haven't tried the B-12 yet. The bikes had always ran smooth so I didn't see any need for a strong dose cleanser.

I've been using Berryman in all my vehicles since the mid 80's when it was in a steel can with the metal cap. It has always done a great job, in both Carbs and Injected engines. Though, the new plastic pull tab is kind of annoying.

Can't say how well it truley works but I've always used Seafoam. When I took the carbs apart on my bike they looked very clean, though it typically sees "toptier" brands in 91 or better octane.

Of course, I've heard that techron and others use a "newer" and "better" type of cleaning agent instead of the solvent used in either Seafoam or Chemtool
