What do you think about getting a list of the known Manufactures of various Brand names in the works?
I knew about this for the most part about 10 years ago but so much has changed I am flat lost!

Good idea. For example, Baldwin makes a ton of filters under various names including Baldwin, Hastings and Amsoil. What we don't know is whether the specs are the same for all fiters they make?

Are Hastings and Amsoil the same guts inside the filter? Many people swear they are?

I currently use a Nippon filter I buy over the internet $4.56 They sell a black one and a blue one (Canister color)I haven't been able to find any specs on these filters . They seem to come right off the boat from Japan. They are OEM replacements for my Mitsu. 1.Nippon 2.Fleetgaurd 3.Advantex These are the only seperate filter manufactors I know of.I just look up a fleetgaurd application for the Mitsu Part # LF3462 I'm a little confused about how there filters are constructed looks like they have two meadins in their 3000 series filters?Any info on this would be great!I'll do some more searching on the Nippon and the Advantex. Tony

Before the website disappears, Look at the Champion Labs website.
On the lower right is a list of brand names they manufacture for.

Mopar and volkswagen are on it.

I am still wondering whose technology is being used for the merged Fram/Champion Labs filters. Supposed to be the best of each company.

Are you also aware Purolator filters is owned by a joint venture company of The Bosch Group and The Mann+Hummel Group?
Look at the very bottom of their website where it mentions this.

Resurrection of an 11-year-old thread. Must be a record!

I would volunteer to organize a sticky, if the moderators agree that a sticky in this oil filter subforum would be appropriate.
