GM 2.4L DI oil consumption?

"I have the 2.4L SIDI in the Equinox. It gets new oil every 2,500 miles since it's all short trips. I've got 24,000 miles on it, and the engine is still quiet". This isn't the 1950s. What a waste of oil and money. Unless your short trips take a year or more! ==

Vega,Northstars,Saturn's and such didn't have direct injection. Its their cylinder wall technology.

The Saturns didn't need DI they had piston ring issues. I owned one and it was a great car. Traded it on my 07 Ion which has been a great car as well. Not a fan of DI but I do have it on my Optima and so far so good.

It was more then piston ring issues. I worked for Cadillac for 4 years. I saw the evolution of the Vega oh I mean Northstar engines. That was also used in Saturn engine development. They used a phrase I came to despise. WORLD CLASS. Yea. World class junk.
