Anyone know what is in this stuff? Before I knew better, I used a steady diet of Quaker State 10W-40 and 1/2 bottle of GM EOS at every 3k mile oil change in my Chevy SB V8 engines. Supposedly, the EOS had high levels of zinc and/or moly, and I reasoned it would provide some extra protection.

Obviously this stuff did not do much harm, as the engines held up well, and always looked good inside.

So just what, exactly, was I adding to my oil??

I'd love to see a VOA on EOS.Compare it to #132,STP,Max-Tuff assembly lube, etc.I may send one in to do a VOA myself.

ZDDP and napthenic (sp) oil. It was laoded with moly. This is why they droped i in United States. They could not very wheel sell it and then also claim that ZDDP was evil. It was not designed to be used as an additive other then for break in of new engine.
