Well, I let the ARX stay in a bit longer than 500 but should be ok there.
When I first put it in I also put in fresh oil to maximize the cleaning effect....it was also past due on a change.
The oil was definitely full of crap in suspension. I've changed oil out at ~1000 miles before and it was WAY cleaner than this! I also drained the filter and then cut it open the check it out. OMG!!!! I couldn't believe that stuff that was in there! Actually quite scary! I've opened filters before and I don't recall seeing anything quite like this, esp in such a short amount of time.
So, IMO, this stuff truely cleans the inside of your engine.
Now, on a second note, I kept good track of MPG before and during the treatment. I think I've posted numbers here before but I don't think that I was giving exact numbers...anyway, in a mainly city driving style we got about 12-13MPG. (V-10 in an 8000 pound SUV) When I filled up today it's at 12.5-13.5MPG Not too shabby.
Will keep you posted on any changes....esp since I'm also doing the tranny and transfer case with ARX.
