Trop artic 5/30 and MC question

How similar are TA 5/30 and MC 5/30? They are both a synthetic blend and same bottle design, believe I've read here before that they are similar but how so?

I did manage to find they both hit the ford spec 946.

Can't really tell you about how similar they are but I've got two vehicles running it now. Both these vehicles are short trippers and I plan to do a UOA on one of them to see how it held up.

Both made by Conoco Phillps and nearly the same oil just different bottles and labels. Almost identical on regards to their add pack.

PQIA site has VOA's of both, but the problem comparing is the MC they tested was SN/GF5 and the Trop was SM/GF4.

The recent MC tested was SM, not the newer SN.

The TA 5/30 I have a bottle of is GF-5 and SN and Ford 946.

They are similar enough to not even worry about. Buy whichever one is cheaper.
