Just did my winter oil change. Try to change around the first day of each season to avoid weather extremes. Used 1 quart Quaker State and 3 quarts Castrol, all 5W-20. The filter was a Motorcraft FL-910S from walmart. Received $7 rebates for the oil. Thank you to those that post in the promotions section! Made a mess in the driveway too!

The car is an '08 Mazda 3.

When we were looking for cars, we stopped by several dealers. One of the dealers that we didn't buy from sent us a coupon for a free oil change, and a letter telling us about their new invetory, just to get us back in the door, so I took our new car there for an oil change a few months later. I noticed that the engine was a lot noiser during cold start-up right away. And with all of the short trips (<2 miles) my wife does, I knew I needed a better oil in our new machine, so I changed it myself 2 weeks later. Much quieter now.

Needed a head gasket on the Wrangler and had some coolant contamination, so changed early to Valvoline 5w30 and Pure One.

The GC got the same, at 115k.
