Does anybody know if this is the spec for DexCool? I'm thinking its about time to change the coolant in the dmax. I have some Fleetguard Compleat ES that meets this spec and was wandering if it is a suitable replacement in the DMAX.

Any opinions?

Thanks,
Todd

Some research yielded this.

(From the FleetCharge site)
Quote:
Low Silicate Heavy Duty Engine Coolant is defined by ASTM specification D 4985. A common example was the public formulation known as GM 6038-M, which is now obsolete but still commonly referenced. Other mixtures are possible from 33% antifreeze to 67% antifreeze.

So, I'd say you're looking for ASTM D 4985, or another form of heavy duty engine coolant, like Fleet Charge.
