2005 Detroit Series 60 14.0L EGR 515 bhp / 1650 Torque
Avg. 7.5 mpg. Idle percentage under 10%.
Oil Capacity is 10 gallons (1 gallon remains in cooler during change).

Shell Rotella T Triple Protection 15W40 CJ4 with 60 days and 22,500 miles. The add pack in this looks more like T5 or T6 than the old T3.

Any objections to stretching this on out to 25,000 miles?

Low fuel, low soot, half TBN still left. Visco is the only possible concern. Has it sheared? Could run to 30K miles. Maybe more if visco remains good.

Shell spec says 15.5 cSt. In the real world it seems to be closer to 14.9-15.2 cSt. The oil is down to 14.4 cSt so it seems to be holding up pretty well.

Thanks Doug. I somehow overlooked your response.

I think your report looks excellent. 30k should be within reach with this combination. Either run it right to 30k and sample, or take another sample along the way.

Edit: I just noticed that this oil was changed at the time of the sample. Pity, I think you could have run it to 30k easily.

Thanks Roy. I will likely put on 30,000 miles in the next 60-90 days so we wont have to wait long. I guess I should stop procrastinating and add a sample valve but their is a heavy bracket on the EGR engines that blocks the normal location so I need to remove and drill that for access.
