I just bought a twenty-year old Snap-On box that has friction slides for all the drawers except the bottom one. The slides are sticky since the previous owner had lubricated them with a heavy grease. I'm planning on taking off and cleaning all the drawers and slides but didn't know what lubricant to use afterwards. Anyone care to offer some advice?

I used some PB Blaster garage door lube for garage door tracks and rollers. It goes on wet and then dries. It isn't supposed to collect dust like grease and oil. It seems to be working good. I cleaned the crud off with brake cleaner and then applied the PB Blaster lube and they are smooth as new.

About 6 years late to the party but I just took apart my 25 year old SO set-up to clean the slides. The factory recommended paraffin, just rub it on the slides.
