(*)I suspect the moly is from the IXL. Other drive clean samples haven't shown this much. Also, shortly after the IXL went in the engine started producing small amounts of white smoke under hard acceleration, hence the early change.

From their packaging:
"The anti-friction metal conditioner - IXL conditions the metal not the oil. ...is not a lubricant fortifier such as graphite, moly, or tfe. ...can not build upon itself. ...will not change tolerances. ...will not affect oil filters."

Nothing about white smoke.

Agreed. I'm not ruling out the IXL as a partial cause. Won't ever find out. I won't be using the IXL again and it has Schaeffer 15w40/131 now.

Mileage wise, the pickup sees about 50%/50% 1-3 miles trips and highway.

I'm pleased with the wear numbers. The first 100K or so was almost entirely local when it was owned by a university: Hard miles and infrequent changes.

Iron looks a bit high for only 2k. I wonder what the next report will look like though. Or are these engines known for higher iron content in the oil?
