Spicer recommends that the following requirements be met for any lubricant that will be used to service most vehicular, industrial and all auxiliary driveshaft applications.
• Use a good quality E. P. (extreme pressure) grease
• Timkin Test Load - 50 Lbs./23 Kg. minimum
• Meeting N.L.G.I.,* E. P., Grade 2 specifications
• Grease must have an operating range of
+325°F to -10°F (+163°C to -23°C)

Been looking at product specs lately and noticed alot of Ep rated grease stating good for ujoints
that does not meet the timkin load.

Jeeper,, I would use Mystic J-T8 high temp,I belive someone at a truck dealer told me that its approved,,,,,,really good grease, lith. comp......BL

I think it is more important to grease u-joints regularly. I used to work on transports and every once in a while I would smell burnt grease while servicing the ujoints. It was even rarer to find a bad u-joint. Even on the trucks with bad grease nipples. If the ball is missing all of the grease will get flung out.

Wait, I did find a lot of bad steering column u-joints on transports. I'm not sure if that was because they never got checked or because they took a harder beating.
