grease new ball joints?

now's the time. Grease them installed though, the rubber boot will be compressed somewhat in installation and you'll squeeze out a monster mess if you do it off the car.
 
wow! glad i asked... i thought for sure i would be told not to worry about it. looks like ill have to go buy me a grease gun today then.

really tho, what kind of grease should i use?

It is not necessary to grease them. They are not dry. What I am saying is that there is no emergency.
But I'll bet you are going to use a better grease then they did.
I really like a moly grease. A wonderful additive.
So for this reason, you could give them a shot. You'll have what you want in there, and enough of it.

So go ahead and put them in and drive it until you obtain your materials at your leisure.
