Anyone interested in K&N oil filter compilation?

Gang, I did the legwork and have compiled a list of the K&N HP series spin-on oil filters by thread size and overall dimensions, similar to what has recently been posted for the Amsoil filters. Would anyone here have interest in my posting this info?
 
List them someone will find it useful for possible optional filters. More info is good!!!

Let me figure out how I want to format the info and you will see it sometime over the next few days. Things are a bit busy right this minute.
 
I'd like to see it as a reference for others. I think it would be a nice thing for numerous people. Maybe no one will really care right now but in a month you may have 2 people wanting that very information.

K&N spin-on oil filter data by thread and outside diameter

For simplicity, filter dimensions are only in millimeters. Inches = mm ÷ 25.4.

Unless indicated, a given filter has an antidrainback valve (ADBV) and an internal bypass. The bypass PSI is given if the rating is on the high side; otherwise the rating (if K&N gave it) is around 8-11 PSI. However, in some cases K&N simply notes that the filter has a bypass without giving the PSI.

Gasket dimensions are unavailable. Check your application carefully. Applications are not listed below, obviously, and you should refer to the K&N site for this info if you want to use a particular filter.

¾”-16 threads, used on Ford, Chrysler, many imports
HP-1003: OD 70 mm, height 84 mm
HP-1012: OD 75 mm, height 121 mm
HP-1002: OD 76 mm, height 97 mm
HP-2009: OD 76 mm, height 131 mm (bypass 8-11 PSI)

The application for this one is listed as "NASCAR racing" without giving further info. Since Ford and GM English threads are already represented in racing applications with the HP-3001 and HP-3002, I'll guess that this is intended to be for the newer SB Chevrolet, which will give it a M22 x 1.5 thread. In other words, this is the racing version for the engines that take the HP-1017. Note that the HP-1018 is about the same physical size as the HP-3001 and HP-3002. Still waiting to hear from K&N to confirm engine application.

Maybe this is K&N's intent in an attempt to prevent "experimentation" leading to engine failures from using the wrong filter, but it is certainly hard to compile the kind of list you see here. Thread info is not available from its site, and I had to work backward by application using competitors' info. I have tried to verify everything you see here, but please use the data with caution and don't get too hot with me if you find any mistakes.

Note 1: The HP-1015 (M20 x 1.5) has NO ADBV but does have a bypass (PSI not given). Recent Subarus are the application, and this is one of K&N's newer filters.

Note 2: The second entry under 1½"-16 should be HP-4002, not HP-4001.

I an understand a filter not having an ADBV but no bypass. In this situation what happens on a cold start up? Been using the HP 1001 and never realized it had no bypass??
 
Filters that have no bypass are used on engines where the bypass is BUILT INTO the oil passage before the oil enters the filter. Apparently Some engine builders would rather rely on their own bypass design than leave it up to the filter manufacturer.If the std. filter spec'd for your car has a bypass, then NEVER use an alternate that does not have one. FWIW
