its an engine air filter, trust me on this one.

We have sold a few, but mostly sold to body shops where the housing was damaged in an accident and they are required to use OEM to keep the vehicle smog legal in CA.

I've seen this filter too. A customer asked us to replace it. It sounds like a good idea to me. I think with proper placement of the inlet and proper surface area on the filter itself it could be made efficient with a long service life. It would be hard to get people to get this concept through their head though. We are all so accustomed to replacing them so often.
