As far as the STI making a 'little' more horsepower. Overall, yes, but fairly similar hp/liter figures. An STI makes 305hp from 2.5l or 122hp/liter. The Cooper in sport mode makes 190hp from 1.6l or 118.75hp/liter. So the requirements from an oil could be similar. The RTS has been shown to do well in the Subaru's. It may be a good starting/ending point for this owner.
I know RTS is a diesel motor oil and a lot of people here run diesel motor oils in gasoline engines. Do they have any affect on modern emissions controls of gasoline motors? Is there anything negatives associated with them for gasoline motors?
