Not by GM.
The fact that "certified" means they likely paid GM $XXX to "certify" the oil. No where does it state your warranty will be voided if you do not use this short list of products.
And that is on top of the federal law prohibiting the act.

Or was that a facetious question, dOOdOO?


God forbid using an oil actually tested for use in the application by the manufacturer!

I'm sure Honda's HTO-06 test is a farce too, as are those by Detroit Diesel, CAT, Cummins and the like.

Every day is a snow day in the GWN. Just got a new furnace for my igloo and did an oil change on my snowmobile today.

Exactly how I pictured it in my mind...
 
So.... not to re-ignite the thread, but it seems I would be fine going with the M1 5W30 that came in the car for daily driver type driving.
