Because I now run glass media filters and doubt I'll ever change that.

FRAM simply doesn't meet MY standards. That's all there is to it. Are they "adequate"? Sure. The question was posed, so I gave my answer.

I have one coming for my 01 RAV4 with Syntec and regular Fram for about 7500 miles or about a year in Ontario weather. I've taken the sample, but my prepaid test kits are all at my US address in Cali so I have ordered new ones from Black Stone. Will post soon as it's done.

The oil looked black as coke! I was kind of surprised, but this car has about 96'000 miles on it and does a fair bit of short trips in cold winters.
