I'd say so too. If you're going to be flat shifting @ 7000+ (or wherever) and stressing things beyond normal ..go with the most robust can you can find.
 
Where would you buy this Ford Racing Oil Filter, someone wants to Drag Race against me next weekend.
 
Cheapest place is thefordsources.com about $12/13 a filter +s/h so get about 4-5 of them, otherwise its a like $130 a case.
 
Unless your laying down some SERIOUS HP its not worth it. I'm putting down 398HP and 481TW to the wheels with a ProCharged "stockish" 355 TPI Camaro and run the stock purolater filter. The oil pump spring will release pressure before its too much.

I agree w/Mkos1980. Unless you're making serious HP and have massive oil pressure, the racing version of the FL820S is a total waste of money.

As for burst strength (which isn't listed above), unless it's a typo the can material for the plain jane filter is .001 thicker than the racing version.
