I'm going to do an oil change on a friend's '02 Ford Crown Vic (4.6 V8). I checked the Amsoil site and it lists a capacity of 5 qts but later yrs take 6 qts (possible typo?). Is there another site I can check?
I found the Owner's Guide - yep, 5 qts. Surprisingly there wasn't much room to access filter out and of course, some place had, at some time, overtorqued the drain plug - some of the threads were buggered up. Oh, it was overfilled as well. At least from what I could see inside the valve cover it was spotless - no sluge or varnish!
it helps a lot on the -02 crown vics with the old style suspension to turn teh wheel to the right, the suspension moves and allows more room for filter removal.

+1 Although I always turn it to the left. Same difference?
