One thing i can say for certain is that the machine they currently measure emissions with in the annual (from Yr 3 or after 1 year for Private Hire vehicles in London) MOT is unable to register anything from the tailpipe on a Euro 6 Diesel with DPF a

What are the differences between the older specs and the newer ones? In my limited experience with German cars they always tended to use a xxw40. Is the move to 0w30 and 5w30 more about fuel economy and emission reduction than engine longevity? As

There's an interesting story here... Up until a few years ago, there were no minimum TBN limits on either API PCMO or ACEA Conventional (ie not Low SAPS) PCMO. Regarding API, although TBN has never been specified, there is an implicit 5 minimum TBN

Yeah this may be a day late, dollar short, but I too have an 06 sentra with a 2.5l in it. I changed out the fluid in the trans to Max Life and that jerk or whatever from first to second is pretty much gone now.

Good point. An ACEA would provide an 'assured' minimum OCI with this logic.
