Figured that the Maverick was due for spark plugs. Acess to them is a real job. So I got out the owners manual and got the plugs that it says fit it.

Took it apart this afternoon and this is what I found. The gap is supposed to be .028-.032 and the ones in it were @.050. Since I didn't have the correct plugs available I re-gapped them and put them back in.

Re-gapping the old plugs fixed it. It seemed to be down on power a little. After re-gapping them it will blow the rear tires off again. Guess I will replace them next year.

Plugs look very fine. Nice mixture.

They should be good for at least 750 hours.

How did they get gapped at .05?

I haven't studied the front K member differences.

Most of those econothrift fords and AMC compacts were pretty lame.

Brutal - That would be an Old '63 Beetle with no heat in the Winter . I know

Dart and Nova were better.

IIRC I liked Dart the best in a slant 6 with 3 on the tree.
